Plot Summary

A portion of the tail of a giant prehistoric reptile is discovered in Denmark. It regenerates into the entire reptile, which proceeds to both destroy buildings and property and generally make a nuisance of itself. It can fly, swim and walk and has impenetrable scales, which makes it difficult to kill. Written by Paul White

Trivia "Reptilicus" has been called "Denmark's only giant monster film", but that's not quite correct. There's also a giant monster in Ib Melchior & Sidney W. Pink's Journey to the Seventh Planet (1962), filmed in Copenhagen back to back with "Reptilicus", as well as in Henrik Mikkelsen & Peter Nielsen's monster shorts "King Kong '86" (1986), "The Great Pink" (1986), "Fortidens ø" (1986) and "Rædsler på fortidens ø" (1986), all four filmed in Randers, Denmark. Goofs The film begins in the frozen mountains of Lapland, above the Arctic Circle. However, there is no snow shown in the first scene, and the miners appear to be in a tropical jungle instead. See more »
