Uneventful soft porn - merely an excuse for exhibiting naked flesh
lor_18 June 2015
MR. PETERS' PETS hearkens back to that era when a skin flick was literally an opportunity to see some nudity exhibited in a public movie theater. The producer Dick Crane had previously come up with a minor classic GIRL WITH AN ITCH, but this time out provides barely minimal diversion.

The title pet shop owner is devoted to his animals and writes to a distant maharajah in hopes of obtaining "animal ambrosia", to extend the life of the pets. He receives the formula in the mail and works on whipping up a concoction.

Instead the elixir turns him into various animals (briefly) and in that state he is able to indulge in his voyeuristic tendencies towards beautiful women. That's a pretty convoluted approach to the standard peeping gimmick of the era, begun in Russ Meyer's IMMORAL MR. TEAS and seemingly sure-fire at the box office.

The MOS film is quite repetitive and tedious, merely a chance to parade unknown models half undressed before the camera. He converts into a black pussycat, a fish, a duck (in an outdoor sequence at a pond), and a rabbit. The models chosen display nice breasts, and the activities depicted couldn't be more innocent.
