George and Ernie reminisce about life in a small town and are featured in a series of vignettes. They sing a medley of folk songs and join with two members of the Top 20 for some barbershop-quartet ballads.
Teresa sings "Way Down Yonder In New Orleans", "When It's Sleepy Time Down South" and "Copenhagen", and duets with Ernie on "When The Saints Go Marching In". The Top Twenty sing "South Rampart Street Parade".
Ernie sings Christmas-themed songs, then welcomes his guest, Charles Laughton. Laughton and Ernie sing a song together and Laughton reads a poem by Edgar A. Guest.
