Despite Peter Kirby's self-endorsement here at IMBb, I don't remember him at all. The film actually stars Roy Acuff, Guinn "Big Boy" Wiliams, Russell Arms, Sybil Merritt and Jason Robards, Sr.
To my way of thinking, the most interesting member of the cast is Fred F. Sears, looking very much like - and even adopting his mannerisms and vocal inflections - Sidney Blackmer
It's a pleasant musical western that features some bright songs. By quickie producer Colbert Clark's standards, production values here are outstandingly good. Ray Nazarro's direction is smoothly competent and there;s even a sequence with a station wagon that's rather excitingly staged!
Barry Shipman's screenplay deftly retains our interest by suspensefully building up the climax and resolving it with finesse.
