Go West, Young Man (1918) - Lost Film
PamelaShort24 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Determined to disprove his father accusation that he is a loafer, Dick Latham ( Tom Moore ) decides to go west to the mining town of Twin Bridges. The town's corrupt political boss Hugh Godson ( Jack Richardson ) appoints Dick sheriff, supposing him to be an easily manipulated tenderfoot. To Godson's shock, Dick proceeds to clean up the town, closing the saloons and gambling dens, and forcing even the most hardened miners to attend church. Godson plots to cheat Rosa Crimmins ( Ora Carew ) and her unwell father out of their ranch, which is rich in gold deposits, but Dick foils the plot and makes Rosa his deputy. Dick learns that some rich Easterners are gambling in the hotel, he arrests them all. His father happens to be among them and is proud of his son's newfound manliness, buys the Crimmins ranch and gives an exuberant approval to Dick and Rosa's romance.

Sadly this early western/comedy film is now presumed lost. It starred Tom Moore who was Owen Moore's brother and brother-in-law of Mary Pickford when she was married to Owen.
