Set in 1994, two 8 year old boys, Ronan and Michael, have a budding friendship. Michael suddenly disappears with his single mother, and Ronan is forced to survive the struggles of primary school life on his own. Ronan begins to receive letters from Michael which help him with his current issues but one day these letters stop. Ronan sets out to find Michael's new home and what has happened to him. Through this adventure he discovers the ultimate demise of his best friend. A film of bravery, independence and courage. A coming of age film.
