When Patrick Perkins - the city's golden boy - is discovered to be one of its most infamous villains, known as "The Magician", a reporter must uncover the truth behind the event that took him down and learn what makes a man a "good" guy or a "bad" guy. Along the way she interviews his nemesis, The Scientist, his former flame, The Mistress, his troubled father, and a host of colorful characters from his past. Some of her interviewees have their own agendas and may have contributed to Patrick's downfall and stand in the way of his redemption.
