An American journalist tries to uncover a corrupt politician in Indonesia's capital city of Jakarta. After his intentions are discovered by the guilty politician, the journalist's impending extradition puts his investigation at risk. Meanwhile an Indonesian street boy, oblivious to his city's corrupt inner workings copes with life in poverty and crosses paths with the journalist.
