Pulp author Adrian Chase only manages to create his grittiest work whilst in the throes of depression. When a romantic encounter results in the sudden upswing in his mood, his fictional characters become influenced accordingly. Chase's agent fears for the outcome of the book and must intervene to put things back on track.
