Dawn takes place in a day in the life of a 13 year old Latina girl named Dawn. Fatherless, lonely, with her mother too busy to give her attention, she's bullied by her abusive brother. As she goes out to do laundry she runs into the nerdy boy next door, Ulises and the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, Manny. As she becomes more aware of herself as a woman, she entertains the idea of choosing her first boyfriend. The decision she makes will affect the rest of her life.
