Bashert is a modern day love story seen through the lens of Jewish spirituality. The film centers around a young writer, Noah (Trevor wright) who moves from Los Angeles to New York and finds himself resistant to the idea of falling in love. Plagued by over thinking and dissatisfaction we see his fate unfold through the eyes of his east coast girlfriend, Dolly (Rita Merson). After a spiritually enlightened friend (Grace Gummer) opens Dolly's eyes to the idea of surrender, she is able to experience true freedom and love. Warned by his musician friend (Paolo Costanza) about the dangers of his self imposed anxiety, Noah is not able to escape the path that he has carved for himself. This beautifully shot and directed (David Frigierio) film, leads the characters on the journey of self discovery and shines a light on the ineffable magic of love.
