Flora, the man-hater, despises everything that wears trousers. She is a vinegary old maid with a sour disposition and a hatred of mankind. Her lovely young niece, Betty, has a sweetheart, Billy, but Flora catches them at it and belabors Billy with her parasol until he flees, leaving Betty in tears. Flora has a brother on a western ranch. His foreman is a woman hater, and thinks all females are "pizen." The brother writes for Flora to visit him on the ranch for a month, and sends the angry woman-hater to haul her from the station. With her pet dog, cat and parrot, Flora arrives at the station trimmed like a Christmas tree. She lays down the law to the woman-hater. A band of drunken Indians stop them on the road to hold them up, but the valor of the woman-hater, together with the strategy of the man-hater, force the Indians to flee in terror. Flora binds up the scratches and bruises of the woman-hater, and it does not take them long to find out that love is the best thing after all. Flora telegraphs Betty and her sweetheart her permission to wed.
