I had high expectations, but I left disappointed, it was below mediocre.
Not sure how historically accurate it was but it did not gave me any better light on Bonaparte's character and life. It only managed to remind me of some of the big battles...
The name Josephine was spoken more times in this movie than Napoleon's. It looked like she's the lead character but not Napoleon? It looked more like a documentary about his personal life, than a movie.
The acting wasn't anything special, Mr Phoenix looked like he's death-tired the whole time and desperately needed a nap.
I seriously doubt the real Napoleon was so humble and calm, lower voiced, lacking emotions. No emperor or world conqueror would be so calm and kind hearted. Those people love their voice to be heard and they act like an arrogant narcissists. Not this one? Okay...
Seems like the movie portrayed and accented more on his defeats and dead-counts, than on his brilliant strategical skills. Why?!
4/10 is the highest I can give.
