Fever Dream (II) (2023)
9/10
A good all-out movie that tips its toes on a lot of topics

Warning: Spoilers
The movie was excellent, but there were a few plot developments that slightly disappointed me:

1. The mother's death: Although it was hinted early on that she had died, the lack of traditional mourning phrases (they never said "allah yer7amha") led me to believe she might reappear later in the story.

2. Hakeem's backstory: While I enjoyed Hakeem's character development, I wish there had been more clues throughout the movie to hint at his motivations and plans. A prior scene hinting at his thoughts on revenge or his deeper intentions would have added depth to his later actions.

3. The finale: The realism maintained throughout most of the movie kinda faltered at the end. The scene where an intoxicated Samado drives to the airport seemed out of sync with the logical flow of the rest of the film. While I appreciated that Hakeem's escape added tension, the airport confrontation felt forced.

But still, the story's logicality was really good, almost nothing felt forced (except for the airport confrontation as I said), and they used their 3.25 hours of runtime wisely. I love how they showed the characters' insecurities and personalities in conflict with each other, I loved how political the movie was from all the plots and schemes all around them, it was really really good. Also bravo on the writers for not having the "driver" killing anyone in the warehouse because it wouldn't have made sense, I know of many films that kill characters without reason at the end just for the shock and emotional value, good thing that they kept the movie logical during the warehouse.

In conclusion, the movie's acting, writing, drama, and comedy were outstanding, making it a must-watch. The minor logical gaps do not detract significantly from the overall quality of this three-hour film.
