Great action, the rest is okay.

Boy Kills World is a good time. A novelty worth the price of the ticket. Recommended lightheartedly to those who enjoy the genera of smooth martial-arts action.

Boy Kills World lives on quality fight camerawork and tight choreography. It's fight sequences are high-octane and what cuts it does allow itself are pointedly intentional to keep Boy and cast moving like superheros rather than martial-arts experts, and keeping one foot outside of reality is where Boy Kills World thrives. The action is Boy Kills World's foundation to explore other ideas. Unfortunately the exploration of other ideas expose Boy Kills World as a novelty, as few of the ideas mesh well with the foundation of the film. The comedy is fresh but surface-level and inconsistent. The world is interesting but only developed enough to fit the needs of the story. The drama is intriguing but too simple in it's execution. The best parts in the film are when these ideas start to mesh together but those moments are the exception and not the rule.
