I gave it a 7 just because it's Junji Ito, the only author that's really given me nightmares that stuck in my head and are still there. But the show is lackluster, poor animation and a god awful intro.
Why not just animate it in black and white with the penstrokes like in the manga? I'd love to see that and I bet it would be so much better i.e. Scarier, creepier.
Some bits of the show is pretty good but nothing compared to the source material. If you haven't, do yourself a favour and pick up one or two of his collections of stories. Don't judge Mr. Ito on this show.
Some have complained that the episodes ends without you being served explanations, but that's the way he writes the stories. Love it or hate it.
