So the episode is certainly not even close to being among the worst, but there are some choices made that makes me question the dedication behind the writing process. In the very early days Barney seemed to be one of the only ones (though in background) that engaged with Larry. Not the biggest thing ever.. But the bar-fly only had some many background or supporting role "scenes" that the Barney relations seemed like a really strange connection to emit.
The music segment was well put together, kudos to the composer and writer(s). The latter were probably the heaviest hitter in terms of quality through this episode. Not sure if I am just becoming a boomer along with the show, but I feel the show keeps lacking heart from the origins of the writers room.. Some of the writers are definitely fighting an uphill battle here..
I realize that the majority of this review might be seen as critical or negative, but certain members of the production made this a 7. Which members? I don't know for sure, but I feel the writers got saved on this one.
See you Larry.
