Review of The End

Fallout: The End (2024)
Season 1, Episode 1
8/10
As a Fallout fan, I can't wait to watch the rest

I'm elated to have watched this first episode and not immediately feel a sense of dread and disappointment as so many other video games adaptations have. This is far from the best thing I've ever watched, but for being a series, not a Hollywood movie, this is simply a great start for a video game adaptation. A quick breakdown for this first episode:

Visual/Art Direction: 9/10 (true to source material as live action can be)

Acting: 7.5/10 (a bit uncanny/campy at points, but fitting at the same time given the source material. At times, I'd bump this to an 8 or 8.5)

Special Effects: 10/10 (absolutely no complaints, especially since it's a series and not a movie. All tv series should have this level of special effects work!)

Content: 6.5/10 (It's gory for sure, but I don't know what I expected for something in the Fallout series lol. It has nudity and some strong language, but at least going of this first episode, I've definitely seen worse. Definitely not a kids show, but not so bad that I feel dirty watching it).

Atmosphere: 9.5/10 (not sure if they could make it feel any more Fallout for a live action show)

Story: 8.5/10 (good so far, too early to give a real take, though).

Source Faithfulness/Lore Accuracy: 9/10 (Since it never claimed to be connected to any existing lore, but just that it's "set in the Fallout Universe", They've done a fantastic job so far with all the elements of Fallout they've incorporated! The "game elements" they have chosen to add are fantastic and abundant, and I hope they keep it up!!)

If you're a Fallout fan, this is worth your time!
