Three years after directing the masterpiece Alien (the movie which pretty much defined the alien sci-fi genre), Ridley decided to direct Roxy Music's video for the massive hit Avalon. Anyway, interestingly, and it runs in the family, Ridley's son Jake was 17 at the time the Avalon video was released, an Jake himself went on to become an acclaimed music video director, along with directing some movies along the way.
Avalon is such a beautiful song and the video does much to accompany such a masterpiece. Maybe Ridley Scott can, if he has time, direct more music videos to contribute to the music videos.
