A film that shows that women do not always have to be nice ladies.

Wicked Little Letters is a new mystery comedy based on a true story. The film is directed by Thea Sharrock, director of Me Before You.

In Littlehampton, residents receive letters full of hilarious, but also blasphemous letters. The two neighbors, local Edith Swam (Olivia Colman) and Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley), can laugh at the letters, but like the other residents, they wonder who the mysterious sender is.

Because Rose is known to many as someone who quickly uses bad swear words, she is quickly seen as the perpetrator. Rose tries to prove her innocence and track down the real sender herself.

With this film they clearly show that women no longer always have to be nice ladies, but can also go through life using foul language. Even though it is based on a true story, what is said by the characters also comes across very realistically as conversations that people can actually have with each other.

Jessie Buckley comes across well and realistically as someone who has no problem using bad words. Despite the fact that she is seen as a suspect, her character remains rude and perhaps even ruder as she is increasingly seen as a suspect while she tries to prove her innocence. Oliva Colman also plays her role as the helping neighbor well and appropriately in the film. Together the two have a good and credible bond as friendly neighbors.
