This movie revelled in gay stereotypes and the awkwardness we all feel when we are placed unfamiliar circumstances. Combined with some excellent acting by Ryan O'Neal and John Hurt, this was comedy gold.
Of course we had really strong foundations of an unsolved murder and the need to infiltrate the "scene".
Of course we had the set comedy scenarios, leather, dancing, skinny dipping and gyms. But the really great scenes were John Hurt as homemaker, it showed genuine warmth and excellent comic timing!
Made in 1982, it is only fair to review in that context. I thought it was brilliant, it was funny, it educated people, it was light, we had no victimhood and the acting was great. I'm giving this a firm 7 outta 10 it was very amusing and I loved it!
