Jussi Björling is one of the all time greats when it comes to music, providing lots of memorable operas, and also other genres.
This biographical documentary delves deep into his life and works in splendid ways, getting deep under the skin of a person who was known for his privacy, and through interviews, clips and staged scenery creates a masterful biography of a true giant in Swedish culture.
Whilst opera may not be my first choice for music, I am interested in it, and this film gives a lot of interesting groundwork in terms of the genre and Jussi's impact on it. And also how he delved into blues an folk a bit.
Overall, definitely a very nicely cut, edited and cinematographied piece, highly recommended!
