Christmas in Notting Hill (2023 TV Movie)
4/10
Christmas portrayed as very dark
1 March 2024
This movie was a bit different in its tropes, location, and theme. I love the on location films! They give me a chance to see and experience other places and traditions from the comfort of my living room! The views of London were beautiful.

The acting was hit and miss. The lead character Georgia seemed easily upset and angry. I loved Graham. He was very warm and believable.

The story didn't conclude very well. There were a lot of plot holes in the last few minutes but the ending kind of dragged without being satisfying.

The thing that bothered me the most and is becoming a regular event in the new Hallmark is the total absence and ignoring of anything spiritual about Christmas. We see Jewish traditions and different cultural ideas. But Christmas Eve is relegated to galas, balls and dances, tree lightings, programs, and in this movie a dark drunken barcscene. What is happening here? Very unsettling.

Hallmark, it's inclusive to include Christianity occasionally. Hallmark, true diversity is showing many religious traditions, and not ignoring Christianity in Christmas. Please do better. No wonder many are turning to GAF where they can find the real meaning of Christmas, not this emptiness that is becoming the new norm at Hallmark.
