Inconsistent use of real and fake elements in the set
27 February 2024
When the TV series was announced, there was much anticipation due to its association with Swastik Productions. However, it's disappointing to see that the final product does not live up to the standards set by their previous works such as Mahabharat and Porus. The pacing of the series feels rushed, and if they continue at this speed, it might risk going off-air within six months. Apart from the first two episodes, subsequent ones lack significant events that differentiate it from earlier series. The casting is average, lacking experimentation for a more appealing look. The CGI effects are a major letdown, with poor graphics evident in every episode, hindering the grandeur they aimed for. Set design is subpar, often reusing outdoor sets from previous productions, and studio-shot jungle scenes come off as artificial. The inconsistent use of real and fake elements, such as fake plastic flowers, detracts from the overall authenticity. Additionally, the color correction is overly contrasted, diminishing the natural feel of the scenes. It appears they are not using better cameras, which impacts the visual quality. While the cast delivers decent performances, they fail to stand out. The dialogue lacks depth and fails to resonate emotionally. While some songs are commendable, the background music falls short of expectations. Overall, while better than Adipurush, this series does not represent the pinnacle of Swastik Production's capabilities.
