The character of Richard Gere, on the contrary, is very restrained for almost the entire film and his face occasionally shows only a slight smile, but as director Garry Marshall assures, this is how his hero should be. And Héctor Elizondo is, as always, a small but important highlight of the film. "Oh, Pretty Woman" will forever be a hit for the ages.
