Has a "montage" feel where one shot rolls into another which rolls into another scene, once past opening credits that is.
The opening "we can only muster 17 ships" builds suspense and let's you know this one isn't good before we have even got any wheels off the ground.
I felt like the cinematography was better, more intentional, dolly shoots focus on Bucky as he battles his inner demons, conflicted over the civvy casualties he saw in ep 4, and the revenge he wants.
"You flying today or not?" may as well have said, "what side are you on?" and these men were all struggling to come to terms with their place.
Crosby becomes the main focus once the mission commences, another case of man struggling to come to terms with his place.
Overall, before we are even wheels up we sense a lot of conflict within our characters. Culminating with Bucky giving up his sheepskin. "Buck always hated that jacket".
The dialogue still comes off as clunky on the build up, but more natural in the combat scenes.
