Incredibly faithful to the novel, gets too much hate

Don't listen to the bad reviews! Watch the movie and judge for yourself.

This was a surprisingly well done movie. The acting and CGI were quite good despite what some say. While I have some problems with the plot (such as the rushed and ambiguous ending), that can be traced back to the book that Collins wrote because this film was actually incredibly faithful to its novel counterpart.

All of the casting choices were perfect and each actor played their character to (at least near) perfection. I would have a hard time naming a better person to play Coriolanus or Lucy Gray. But the casting for Dr. Gaul is what made my jaw drop. She's actually the most interesting character in both the book and the movie, and Viola Davis' creepy portrayal of her was absolutely top notch.

This film definitely gets too much hate. It was absolutely very well done. For those who complain that it isn't like the original Hunger Games, it isn't supposed to be. This is a masterfully created prequel meant to set the pieces of the original story in place.
