Mexican Gold (2009)
5/10
Decent story, but the execution is another thing

Trying to keep cowboy cinema alive, this low-budget film has a story that works, but the way it was directed and edited makes it difficult to keep up with. It's a story of bandits looking for stolen gold, which is not something that hasn't been seen before. Admittedly, the plot of this movie is pretty decent, although it starts out in a way that makes no sense in the first scene. The limit that low-budget films have is that the production can affect the quality of a fascinating story to tell depending on the execution. The film has a slow pace and becomes tedious. The editing is quite amateur, as are the titles and credits that seem made by a school student. The sound and special effects are not very good quality. It's strange that it hasn't been executed in a decent enough way, having sets and costumes that match well with the era in which the story takes place. Mexican Gold is in conclusion a low-budget film with a decent story that can be appreciated if you ignore its weak execution. My final rating for this movie is a 5/10.
