A Good Wholesome Watch

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a great family flick to watch with the kids. It has good lessons about parents living their unlived life goals through their children. The father wants his son to play baseball and win the championships for the team, which he wishes he could do but can't. The mother is played well as she balances out the father's wishes with believing that her son should do what he likes. It culminates with the father's understanding that his son should be able to make his own choices. Eddie's friend DB is the worst thing about this movie. I understand not wanting your friend to leave you hanging at baseball, but he was overly antagonistic and needed a good punch in the teeth from Eddie. Also, where did all the food that Eddie got everywhere at night go? Did he clean it? Did his mom clean it? Who knows. That's the biggest plot hole in this movie. I am also very glad he did not win the cooking competition but instead won back his friendships and the respect of the people around him. Provides a good lesson that just because you love something does not mean you will be the best, but that is ok as long as you are true to yourself.
