Naked ladies, sun & water is always a winning combo and 'Sex on the Beach' does it right. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast 51 minutes went by. You get a familiar face or two (if you've seen too many Playboy titles) and I was particularly happy that no time gets wasted on dialog or a silly narrator leaving viewers the ability to just soak up the female visuals. A solid video from Playboy with a standout moment or two.
After a standard but decent montage intro, we get "Sun Charter" with three ladies (Marilyn, Jessica & Mercy) first on a catamaran in bikinis & nude briefly. Then one on one time in the water with the boat anchored farther out. They don't shy away from nice close-ups and some risqué shots for Playboy standards. Jessica was my favorite of the trio (5 mins). "Bonfire Dance" with model Sarah Hutchinson isn't bad, but you can see her in a hotter scene in 'Girls of Hawaiian Tropic'. A little too much time gets spent on the body paint, tribal guys banging on drums element not showcasing Sarah to her fullest potential (5 mins).
"Beach Girl" is your strip from a bikini with an unnecessary male photographer. Brande Roderick pre-implants is good looking and the scene provides some nice close ups (4 mins). "Massage" finds Shellani getting a 'full body Swedish massage' from an equally naked Michelle. I don't know why, but when Shellani's paired up with another lady it never gets super hot (5 mins). "Cascading Water" has model Alexis coming out of the water from snorkeling. She strips from her partial wetsuit and has an outdoor shower in a standard but decent scene (4 mins). "Island Artist" has a cheesy setup as Toni dances, strips while a man paints her. There's one too many shots of the guy, but Toni's wicked body shown in multiple closeups make this a good segment (5 mins).
"Island Girls" finds two ladies (Sandy, Casey) buying fruit and then feeding it to each other as they get naked. Both have their solo moments (5 mins). "Sea Goddess" has Tara getting naked from her white bikini on a private beach as a dude folding towels watches nearby happily. It might be the title's best moment and Tara has a great body as the camera shows it off nicely while a chill soundtrack plays. Plenty of closeups - one or two of the risqué nature (5 mins). "Blue Heaven" wraps things up as friends (Elsbeth, Michelle) get sexy at an outdoor bar with patrons & a band. Not a bad finish with some nice shots (6.5 mins).
'Sex on the Beach' is a decent Playboy title falling somewhere in the middle of their catalog. I wish Sarah's part had been better, but they did the theme justice. Anyone who says this is one of Playboy's worst titles obviously hasn't seen very many of them. I wish Tara Brooks & Toni had gone on to appear in other videos as I'd like to see more of them too. Guess I'll have to settle for rewatching their scenes again.
