I'll be honest, my first impression after seeing The Batman for the first time was that of a film that was too dark and "slow" to get me excited about, but secondly I was able to better appreciate the psychological and introspective aspect of the film and better appreciate its characteristics. Of course, after Nolan's masterpiece you couldn't have thought that any Batman would bring those emotions back to life but all in all the film is pleasant, less action but more introspective. The choice of cast, although not at the stratospheric levels of its predecessor, still brightens the scene and is appreciated for its commitment and particularity. Overall a positive rating which does not hide some limitations but recognizes an appreciable attempt to give a different slant to the character and the settings.
