"Talk to Me" is an effective, brutal, and disturbing horror flick, quite gnarly with scenes that completely put you at unease and deliver necessary jolts and shocks. The movie is bloody and gory, definitely not for the weak-hearted. Additionally, it is extremely depressing and relentlessly bleak, where nothing good happens for any of the characters from the movie's first scene to the very end. However, this sinking feeling works well for the movie, although you may feel a little let down by the lack of resolution. Like A24's "Bodies Bodies Bodies," my issue with "Talk to Me" is also that it relies on people making continuous stupid, idiotic decisions to move the plot forward, which is my biggest criticism of the movie.
