Death is the final truth - everything else changes

This is a Malayalam language film starring Mammootty. I consider this one of his best films.

Written by MT Vasudevan Nair, the film's story has many lessons to tell. About life, human character and personality, and love itself.

The film is about a terminally ill person who has given up hope and walks away from society to try one last attempt with a holistic treatment. When he recovers and returns though he realises how the nature of the world and of life is that of Change.

The film deserved a better ending which could have been easily scripted and kept it more memorable. But for all his genius, MT seems to cherish cynical endings as this one. And perhaps it was a remnant of the 80s and early 90s where at times Malayalam films equated melancholia with high art.

But for the lack of positivity in the message being given a befitting ending, nothing to take away from the performances, music and direction. A must watch!
