Dean is soooo overrated not sure why he's seen as the best first boyfriend or her top boyfriend pick. He has a controlling streak. I hate that Lorelei likes him so much. Emily's assumption that the only thing teens can do if they were out all night is have sex is telling about her paranoia & distrust Lorelai likely faced growing up, self fulfilling prophecy "if you assume I am then I will". Lorelai gives Emily insight to her true feelings for once finally & despite the consequences of Emily's ostracizing her Lorelai runs to the hospital. Emily's facade is broken when she tells Rory her mother must be busy but sends her away & calls her daughter herself.
