As Walter takes everyone on a trip through a maniac maze, we are led into more realizations about how things came to be. It includes the boy who was found underground in a far back episode, the pale, brilliant little boy. What is happening is that the characters are being reinvented. Walter is dropping into another valley of depression. He is forced to sacrifice a confused, starving man in order to save himself. Of course, Peter has entered a whole different realm. When he faces off against one of Observers, he anticipates his every move and beats him to a pulp. He also now has the ability to jump from one place to another. The others have no idea he has that device in his neck. But something really weird happens on the monorail at the end.
