I'm only on episode 4, but I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. Although I am a lapsed Catholic, all that childhood catechism really sunk into me. So I'm a sucker for anything involving Church conspiracies and supernatural occurrences. It simultaneously fascinates and freaks me out. When done well, I really enjoy them.
This is one of the best shows of the genre that I have ever seen. Part of the appeal is that it's a Spanish production. The locale and culture totally contribute to the eeriness, and the acting is first-rate. I'm American, but understand (Spain) Spanish - the subtitles are decent but could be a tad better in an effort to understand each character just a little more.
Each episode is jam packed with story and it hasn't let up. I say that as a fan of the genre. I imagine a non-fan would think it stupid and that's ok. If you're one of those, I cannot recommend. But if you are fan, it's an enthusiastic thumbs up.
