Well, the writing hasn't gotten better. I want so much to like this show again. It has had some amazing moments, but the last season or so, the writing has been so lazy and on-the-nose. The character motivations and reactions are so artificial and contrived for the most part. Its been over ten years since they've seen each other, but she automatically goes to, "it's a scam"? I get they have a past, but it's a nuanced past. Unfortunately, "nuanced" hasn't been able to describe the writing in a long time. It's hard to enjoy anything that actually does work since the writing doesn't do anything to paint a believable world. It's gets a "Five" for everything else - production values, action, acting - and for its body of work so far. There's still time for it to better, so here's hoping.
