Rick and Morty: How Poopy Got His Poop Back (2023)
Season 7, Episode 1
8/10
Fun and solid episode
16 October 2023
The fact that this title (at the time of writing this review) has only a 7.2 is ridiculous. This makes it the fifth-lowest-rated R&M-episode so far. The episode has just been released, and knowing IMDb, the rating might decrease some more. This could potentially place it in the top 3 worst-rated episodes. In my humble opinion: undeserved.

This is a solid Rick&Morty episode. I was entertained and had a few laughs. It's not the best episode of the series, but it's far from the worst. Mr. Poopybuttwhole is a fan favorite and het gets a lot of screentime. It's also nice to see Rick's gang back together. There was one disappointment, though. After the events of 'Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort,' I expected more friction in the friendship between Rick and Birdperson. The latter seemed to have transitioned from a side character to a major plot element, only to return to just being a side character again.

Though, the main reason of the low rating is probably because of the new voices. Yeah, they sound (a little) different. However, this does not nullify the writing, story, and animation of the episode. After the first minute, it didn't even bothered me anymore. It's unfortunate that Justin Roiland no longer plays part, but it's because of good reasons. Guess we'll just have to accept it, and try to enjoy what's next.
