Review of Raaghu

Raaghu (2023)
4/10
For the efforts alone.
2 October 2023
Hyped for being a single actor film, it narrates the story of Raaghu (Vijay Raghavendra), a medicine delivery boy masquerading as a thief, robbing the same houses be delivered medicines to in the night. He is blackmailed by an anonymous called into performing several tasks, if he wants to save his girlfriend Jenny. With the second lockdown getting announced, it is upto Raaghu to utilize the empty streets to perform the tasks assigned to him and who is the mysterious caller and why he is after Raaghu, one has to sit through the 90mins thriller to know the answers.

I could say A for the efforts put forth by the team and Vijay Raghavendra in bringing this story to life. The making for the most part is apt and with an able actor like Vijay, the job got much easier to narrate the story. However it is the story that is weak and the major reveals simply lacks impact. As much as they try to elevate the scenes with the nigh setting, the writing lacks the weight. Exactly why, the big reveal don't work and the climax comes out as too weak as well as abrupt. Probably the single actor narrative should've been more confined to a room or a building to leave a bigger impact.
