I've heard about Pretty Little Liars for a long time, since all my girl friends watched it in high school. I decided to give it a chance, as it seemed like a good adaptation of the I Know What You Did Last Summer book. But I was wrong.
To be honest, I don't understand what people love about this show. The cold open is so rushed that the writers don't give the audience a chance to care about the character's disappearance. It could be any of the five girls, and we wouldn't care more or less, because their characters and relationships are not fully introduced.
I do like the pacing, but structurally, there's nothing going on here. There's no inciting incident, no vibe, no emotions. The world and characters are so bland that I didn't feel anything. I know that this is the kind of show that gets interesting at the end of the pilot, but come on, take the audience's time into consideration!
So yeah, I won't be continuing this show.
