I think that's what it feels like to live in Hell. I've never been this disinterested in a Supernatural season finale before. Metatron was a boring villain, you knew would be defeated eventually. But the way he was, when he reprised the role of the mean girl, saying bad things about her followers. When the former prom queen, was recording her disdainful diatribe for everyone to hear. Was very cheap and anticlimactic. And what is a « good » Supernatural finale, without one of the brothers « dying »? This time it was Dean's turn, as another blatant excuse to get Crowley to save the day... I don't care being the minority here, I just think Abaddon is a better vilain. And should've been it for the rest of the series. So all this buildup was basically for nothing, because the Angel war was bound to finish by the end of this episode. The show always introduced new arcs each seasons, to be dealt with on the season ender. But this time, it felt like it didn't change anything in the grand scheme of things. And that we were cheated the big showdown between the Winchester brothers, Crowley and Abaddon, for this « God » nonsense, that ended exactly like anyone could've predicted. At least season 9 had good standalone episodes, which probably makes it standout the most from bad ones, like season 8 and 6 even. Only it is still one of the weakest, for being this humdrum and unsurprising.
