Outside of the Nolan Batman films, this is one of the best DC films that have been made. The backstory of how Krypton came to its end, how General Zodd came into power, and how superman was sent to earth as a way of preserving the Kryptonian people were all done in a very interesting way. Henry Cavill was a great casting choice for the film. Additionally, showing what it was like for Superman to grow up was a great way of making the audience understand the moral dilemmas that made it hard to choose he should utilize his powers. Furthermore, Russel Crowe did a great job in playing the role of Superman's father.
