This is certainly top-of-line within the Endeavor Series, which runs in Germany under the deceptive title of "The Young Inspector Morse" with the episode titled as "Castle in the Sky" putting the focus on the collapsing building, whereas "Deguello" - at least for everybody who has watched "The Alamo" and "Rio Bravo" - has the clear pointing towards the very final fight with no mercy or pardon given.

But - mild spoiler - there is a sense of relief for almost all the key characters either thru death, a turnaround from the wrong path and redemption by action, unexpected heroes and the resolution of horizontal stories spanning this season and the previous one. Only Morse is, as usual, the desperate loner at the end, even if his life is spared despite facing impossible odds.

The story itself brings together two seemingly unrelated stories - the murder of an Oxford Librarian and the deaths of many residents of the beforementioned collapsing "castle in the sky" which is not an accident but at least an act of criminal negligence meshed with corruption in high public offices.

And even the Pelikan has his Bright moment.
