I'm not someone who often watches comedies, so they don't make me laugh much, but if they all became as funny as Barbie, I might give it another go.
Because I really laughed out loud during the film.
It did away perfectly with the comedy and the moralizing, a bit deeper, philosophical stuff.
Of course, the soundtrack is top-notch, the sets are breathtaking and there's Ryan Gosling: the main reason I came.
In addition to all that, this film is a good critic of patriarchal rule, without overdoing it. It questions gender roles in a fluid way, and brings existential questions to the fore.
By the way, I don't understand the opinions of those who didn't like the film because it promoted feminism. Whereas Barbie is literally an invention designed to make women feel as important as men in society, to break down stereotypes and glorify gender equality.
Ok whatever, go and see it, it's worth it.
