Wham - Excellent intimate look for old nostalgics...
18 July 2023
Wham were quite a pivotal band back in the early 1980s (in the UK in particular), and this documentary is an excellent intimate look without being hagiography.

We have a warts & all look at the band, with a fair focus on both and NOT just on George Michael along, giving due praise to Andrew Ridgely who has been the butt of jokes for too long by snipers.

We see their journey to the top, and smile when we see some of the humbler aspects to their story as well as roots to some of their inconic tunes.

Admittedly, Wham may not be my first choice for music, but undeniably they had a lot of talent and were no generic boy band. They were a group & accomplished act in themselves, and this documentary helps to show all that.

A fine homage to the wonderful group, and great for old nostalgics.
