Slave trade in this day and age?
30 June 2023
A group of Muslims travel on a pilgrimage, but an unscrupulous criminal is taking full advantage, and sending them into the slave trade. Poccari is quickly on the case, he and others struggle to accept that slavery was still happening in 1959.

After a little bit of research, it transpires that this was actually happening, it's almost hard to believe, but there have always been heartless criminals who'll do anything for money, think of the current migrant crossings, there are some parallels.

It's an intriguing storyline, it's well acted, maybe it's not the most exciting or convincing production I've ever seen on this usually reliable show. I'm not sure about you, but the ending was way too abrupt I thought.

Seeing Poccari as the man of action makes a nice change, always so suave and casual, it's nice to see him spring to life.

Actors were routinely recycled on this show, some stand out, Charles Gray in particular, that voice is so distinctive, he's good here as is Ronan O'Casey, the standout for me was Roger Delgado, the wonderful Roger Delgado.

A decent offering.

6/10.
