This is where WB got confusing to me.

They had great dramas, but nice comedies too. Yet somehow, they always cancelled those after a very short amount of time. And when it comes to « Brutally Normal », it was after only eight episodes, and I'm not sure it wasn't pulled off the air sooner... Considering how daring the pilot episode was, I can only assume the freaks that used to be a harmless community of « concerned parents ». Thought the show was too « problematic » and pushed for its cancellation. I admit, it was beginning to lose steam after episode two, but the fifth, and last one I could get my hands on, was very good. I also sensed it was by the same people who brought us Scrubs afterwards, and I was right. You even have the amusing Ken Jenkins, playing a professor there. I think it could've been paired with Popular, as both shows were very similar in tone. But it don't matter anymore. Popular was cancelled the following year, and this time feels more and more distant from how things are today...
