S.W.A.T.: Unraveling (2022)
Season 6, Episode 5
5/10
Ok episode, but odd and lazy writing
21 June 2023
This episode went through some really odd transitions

A bunch of kids flash mob stealing, then a young lady is shot, presumably by a cop, but then it ends up being murder to cover human trafficking

The most odd part is what the show uses for motivation and opposition to keep the episode going. The main thrust is piggybacking Deacon thinking he killed a young black female bystander, but once cleared goes from grief to this vigilante "I'm going to get them by any means" attitude. And as opposition writing to show how motivated he is, the entire cast seems to get lines written like they are lazy or too bothered to follow the easiest leads. Why does this stand out to me? Because nearly every episode, they chase the craziest and slimiest possible answers all the time. And skip over the actual time it takes to do these things.

This shows writing was very incongruent to the norm of the seasons.
