Rosemary & Thyme (2003–2006)

Nice little British series to fill sone 'time'
21 June 2023
Despite the fairly predictable outcomes and easy-going 'crime-fighting' by the two mature women, this series gives satisfying entertainment and won't result in nightmares. The acting, such as it is, is not exactly top-notch stuff, but the main protagonists have a nice chemistry and relationship that exudes authenticity. The main attraction of this light-weight series is the scenery-the beautiful houses, buildings, villages and above all, wonderful and interesting gardens. It's a relief to watch a show that stars two older women and is devoid of swearing, gratuitous violence and shows lots of gorgeous countryside. On the same vein as Miss Marple, but not so complex. A pleasant way to spend an evening or if you need a break from 'real' crime shows. And another plus is the lovely, yet not intrusive, background music. These days it's often more important than the characters or storyline. Put your feet up and enjoy.
