LGBTI and cell phones
22 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Butterfly in Shades of Grey is very prescient because, being released in 1994, Lieutenant Columbo blushes when learning about the LGBTI background of one of the suspects. Columbo, who normally isn't easily blushed, feels like he's stepping on eggshells. Anyway, Columbo is also fascinated by cellular phones, which were relatively new at the time.

I was really quite hoping the end credits would see Columbo in his vehicle chatting on his phone (probably legal at the time).

William "Star Trek" Shatner hams it up as the murderer, and his pencil moustache is perfect for the persona.

The arrest at the end involving the undercover cops was well written.
